Bohol Philippines, is an island province of the Philippines located in the Central Visayas region. Its capital is Tagbilaran City. To the west of Bohol is Cebu, to the northeast is the island of Leyte and to the south, across the Bohol Sea is Mindanao.

Geography
Bohol, with its many resorts located on or very near the white beaches has made it a popular Philippines tourist destination. The Bohol Chocolate Hills, numerous mounds of limestone formations, is one of the most popular attractions.

Panglao Island, located just southwest of Tagbilaran City, is home to some of the finest beaches in the country. The Philippines Tarsier, considered by some to be the smallest primates, is indigenous to the island of Bohol.

Bohol Chocolate Hills; are considered one of the Philippines natural wonders and Bohol is often referred to as the "Jewel of the Philippines". The Chocolate Hills in Bohol are made of limestone leftover from coral reefs during the ice age when Bohol Island was submerged. The hills turn brown during the summer, hence their name.

Bohol Beaches; are of white sand. The sand is often of such high quality that it is exported to other beaches throughout the world. The most well known of these beaches is on Panglao Island, and there, numerous islets have similar, yet untouched and pristine white beaches.

Loboc River; is the most famous, running from the southeastern coast to the center of Bohol Island. It is famous for its River Cruise going up to its water source. The largest, Inabanga River, runs in the northern part of the province.

Numerous waterfalls and caves are scattered across the Bohol Island, including the beautiful Mag-Aso falls in Antiquera. Mag-Aso means smoke in the native tongue. The water is cool and often creates a mist in humid mornings which can hide the falls.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tagbilaran Airport

 

By air and land (Direct flight to Tagbilaran, Bohol)

 

Going to Tagbilaran, there are daily flights via Philippine Airlines, Airphil Express, Cebu Pacific and ZEST Air. It is a one and a half hour (1.5 hrs.) flight from Manila to Tagbilaran. From the airport, you will take a fifteen to thirty-minutes (15-30 minute) travel by car going to the resort. Some of the resort offers free pick-up from the airport to the resort.

 

By air, sea and land (Direct flight to Cebu then Sea Transport to Tagbilaran City)

There are daily flights going to Cebu via Philippines Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Airphil Express and ZEST Air going to Cebu. It is a seventy-five-minute travel from Manila to Cebu. Twenty (20) minutes by car from Cebu Mactan Airport to Cebu Seaport terminal of Supercat or Oceanjet which have daily transfer from Cebu Seaport to Tagbilaran Sea Port. From the Sea Port, you will take a fifteen to thirty-minutes (15-30 minute) travel by car going to the resort. Some of the resort offers free pick-up from the airport to the resort.
