No Cebu vacation is complete without an awesome tour of the islands most popular historical attractions. Here at WOW Philippines Travel Agency we have put together what we feel is a really exciting tour.

Lapu-Lapu Shrine

One of our first stops will be to visit the Lapu-Lapu Shrine that's been created from bronze and stands a full 20 meters or 65 feet high, it's really impressive. The statue of Lapu-Lapu was place here to honor him for his courage as a leader and for defeating the Spanish soldiers after they came to attack the people of Mactan Island.

Alegere Guitar Factory

Next is a visit to the Alegre Guitar Factory here in Cebu, considered by many to be the king of guitars for the Philippines. The Alegre Guitar Factory is located in Lapu-Lapu City on Mactan Island, where they have been making some of the finest guitars for generations, with the secret being passed on from one generation to the next. The guitars are really beautiful and are all made using the very best woods from, Canada, Madagascar, Philippines, Africa just to name a few. This is a really exciting process to watch, and if you are fortunate you will meet Fernando Alegre who is also a musician on a professional level.

Cebu Taoist Temple

Now we move onto the Cebu Taoist Temple, which was built in 1972 and is located in what is known as, Beverly Hills Subdivision of Cebu City. Magellan's Cross

Located in Santo Nino of Cebu City is Magellan's Cross, which stands at the center of a small chapel, where visitors can view the cross, and off to the side there are candles that can be lit, to make an offering. It is stated that Ferdinand Magellan himself planted the cross here upon his arrival to Cebu Philippines, which was later colonized by the Spanish. One inside the chapel you will see the ceiling is painted in detail, depicting the arrival of Magellan taking you through to his death on Mactan Island, as he was killed by Lapu-Lapu.
