Subic Bay Philippines is located on the west coast, of the island of Luzon in the Philippines, and is about 62 miles northwest of Manila Bay. Subic Bay was at one time the site of a major United States Navy base, it is now the location of an industrial and commercial area as-well-as a tourist destination known to local Filipinos and foreigners as the Subic Bay Freeport Zone under the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority.
Pictured here to the left by Rick St. John of WOW Philippines Travel Agency is the former US Naval Base, this entire area is very popular with tourist who visit this area during their Subic vacation. Opposite of this building, and located along the Subic Bay area you will find a park, that statues and other memorabilia from a time now past.
This area is very quite and peaceful, its here at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone that you will enjoy many fun family activities, there are many restaurants in the area, as-well-as small boutique stores for shopping. There are also many scuba diving areas around Subic Bay, so if you love diving in the Philippines, then you should give this area a visit.
Subic Bay Tours & Activities
There are a few fantastic places here that offer some really awesome tours, for example, there is Zoobic Safari, which is the only open safari area in the Philippines where you can witness exotic tigers roaming free, and you can even join a jeepney ride inside the enclosure, as they drive through.
There is also the very exciting Ocean Adventure Park, where you can swim with dolphins, watch an exciting sea lion show, and visit the aquarium where you can experience seeing all types of exotic fish and other marine life.
