However, some of the hotels in the Philippines that we have visited, stood out for us due to a particular charm: these are our "coup de coeur" and we have identified them with a heart placed next to their name. As you peruse through our hotel listings you may be surprised to observe that some small resorts and hotels with simple amenities yet brimming with allure were given the Heart Award. Those that are located in remarkable places were also given a similar distinction. The more banal Class AAA resorts were not. That was our deliberate choice.
