Kalibo is a
small town on Panay Island, and
Aklan Province in the southern Visayas
Region of the Philippines Archipelago.
Kalibo
Airport is the larger airport funneling
traffic to and from Boracay Island. The
planes coming in and out of the Kalibo
airport are larger Boeing 737 jumbo
jets.
From
Manila, you will leave from the
Philippines Airlines Airport, this is there own airport and is
separate from the domestic airport housing,
SEAIR &
Asian
Spirit.
From Manila to
Kalibo Airport on Panay Island flying by
Philippines Airlines,
the flight time from take off to the landing, is only 40
minutes, so by the time you arrive in Boracay you are fresh and not jet lagged.
Many
foreign
visitors traveling to Boracay from Manila choose this route
because of its scenic beauty. Traveling through the Philippines
countryside from Kalibo to Caticlan is an opportunity to see some
of the local provinces and how the native Filipino people live.
If you are
a Foreign tourist I do encourage you to
take this route at least one time. The
trip is very beautiful, relaxing and
again, an opportunity to see the real
culture of the Filipino people.
Southwest
Travel & Tours will be your Boracay tour guide from the
Kalibo
Airport to Caticlan, where you will
get on a Southwest banca boat at the jetty port and be taken to
Cagban Beach, the arrival area
for Boracay Island.
